Unlock Your Action Learning Power

Join an Action Learning peer group
to develop both your creative business and your creative leadership skills

Action Learning is a powerful approach to management and personal development. It is about practice learning from the experience of doing - as opposed to ‘taught’ programmes. It involves small groups of peers, action learning ‘sets’, who meet regularly to work on, and implement solutions to real work-based challenges or opportunities.

These peers become mentors for each other for the duration of the programme. Adopting a questioning approach, they help each other to analyse issues, change perspective, develop different solutions and encourage taking action. Everyone contributes reflective listening, feedback and insights. A facilitator steers the dynamics of the group and ensures a safe learning space for each set member and the group.

Action Learning in the CCI

Our pilot workshops have shown that working in the cultural and creative industries sectors offers plenty of structural and personal challenges suitable for the action learning approach:

  • How to deal with uncertain demand of project work in fast changing industry structures?

  • How to find focus amidst the huge variety of creative ideas and opportunities and manage your portfolio career?

  • How to balance artistic, social and economic goals?

  • How to deal with changes such as digitisation, or the impact of the ongoing Pandemic on your business and on your motivation ?

Professional action learning facilitation ensures that each individual issue is dealt with in an adequate manner and focusses the particpants on learning from and with each other.
